[There's a significantly longer pause between messages than there had been earlier in the conversation. It's maybe a little obvious he's uncomfortable with this information. ...But he puts on his best face for his reply.]

Neat! Then we should hang out sometime and catch up!

[Was that stupid? He thinks it's stupid. But what else do you say to that?]

(Yeah, it's pretty understandable that he'd be uncomfortable with it. Lucretia hesitates before typing a reply, defaulting back to cautious.)

Oh, we– I mean, we don't have to, Magnus. I know this is a strange situation. I wasn't telling you because I think that we should hang out, I just felt strange trying to keep it from you, that's all.

[So... She doesn't want to hang out, then. He's not sure whether he should be hurt by that or not. There's another long pause.]

No worries. Thanks for letting me know.

(God is she just making it worse?? Taako was right, she should have waited this one out.)

(And then a solid five minutes later, after agonising over what to say precisely:)

Do you want to hang out some time? I'd like to see you, but if it's too weird, that's okay.

[Magnus spent that five minutes feeling supes awkward about this whole ordeal, but when she sends this text it gives him back a little hope. Maybe she's just super shy.]

Yeah, totally! It's not weird at all!

[scholiast]

Oh! Okay!

(She didn't expect to get this far.) Would you like to– um, have you been to see the river, yet? It's one of my favourite places to sketch.

I've been there. I could definitely stand to go again, it was neat! When are you free?

[scholiast]

Uh I have work today and tomorrow, but after that I'm free. Do you have a job?

I do! I work weekdays and I'm off at 4. My schedule's pretty concrete so it's easy to schedule around. So as long as we work around that I'm good to go!

[scholiast]

Okay! Wait, where do you work?

Riverview Contracting. I make houses! What do you do?

[scholiast]

Oh, of course you do.

(She's so tickled by this.)

I work at Gramarye, as a magical researcher.

You know, I heard some people around here don't have magic where they come from. How weird is that?

It's hard to believe, huh. I've met some people who I had to explain the entire concept to from scratch.

That's wild. Though compared to everything else going on here, it's kinda normal, huh?

Yeah... good call. There's a lot going on here still and I've already been here for a couple months now.
