Taako had given her Magnus' contact information on the off chance that she'd need it, and Lucretia has been staring at a new message addressed to him for ten minutes now, wondering whether she should go into this being completely transparent or if she should try to start from scratch.

Eventually, she just sends something pretty neutral, careful.)

Hi Magnus. I'm a friend of Taako's– I'm not sure if he mentioned me or not? My name is Lucretia. I just thought I'd introduce myself, if you don't mind.

I don't mind at all! It's nice to meet you. I think Taako mentioned your name in a text message once? I guess you're roommates?

(It feels so bad to lie to him. She's not even really lying, just omitting the truth, but it still feels disingenuous. Lucretia gives up the ghost pretty quick.)

Yes, we are. It's... nice to meet you too. Magnus, may I be frank with you?

[Kind of an odd thing to hear at the beginning of a conversation, but luckily she won't see his face over the phone.]

Yeah, go for it!

(It's all a bit odd, unfortunately.)

I... know you too, Magnus. In the exact same way that Taako does.

[There's a significantly longer pause between messages than there had been earlier in the conversation. It's maybe a little obvious he's uncomfortable with this information. ...But he puts on his best face for his reply.]

Neat! Then we should hang out sometime and catch up!

[Was that stupid? He thinks it's stupid. But what else do you say to that?]

(Yeah, it's pretty understandable that he'd be uncomfortable with it. Lucretia hesitates before typing a reply, defaulting back to cautious.)

Oh, we– I mean, we don't have to, Magnus. I know this is a strange situation. I wasn't telling you because I think that we should hang out, I just felt strange trying to keep it from you, that's all.

[So... She doesn't want to hang out, then. He's not sure whether he should be hurt by that or not. There's another long pause.]

No worries. Thanks for letting me know.

[scholiast]

(God is she just making it worse?? Taako was right, she should have waited this one out.)

(And then a solid five minutes later, after agonising over what to say precisely:)

Do you want to hang out some time? I'd like to see you, but if it's too weird, that's okay.

[Magnus spent that five minutes feeling supes awkward about this whole ordeal, but when she sends this text it gives him back a little hope. Maybe she's just super shy.]

Yeah, totally! It's not weird at all!

[scholiast]

Oh! Okay!

(She didn't expect to get this far.) Would you like to– um, have you been to see the river, yet? It's one of my favourite places to sketch.

I've been there. I could definitely stand to go again, it was neat! When are you free?

It's the weirdest looking dog I've ever seen but I love him.

So far this dude has not tried to eat me, which is a plus, for sure.

I wanna say this little dude is trustworthy but you can never be sure in the wild. He might have a stomach of holding that could swallow you whole.
